Preserve Our Wrecks, Kingston is a charitable corporation based in Kingston, Ontario and dedicated to preserving and protecting the marine heritage. Harold has been mooring Director for Preserve Our Wrecks for 5 years .
It's always worth repeating why we place buoys or markers on the various wreck sites we enjoy. Mooring work is one of POW's core activities. The placement of buoys encourages appropriate mooring at vulnerable wreck sites and reduces the risk of anchor damage and other unintended harm. The presence of buoys that clearly advertise the actions of POW also serves an educational purpose.
If you'd like to adopt a buoy and have your business or other entity recognized on it get in touch with us at 613-767-7446. We welcome as members anyone who shares our aims and ambitions. Divers are particularly encouraged to join since they benefit directly from the work of the Organization and can contribute directly to the protection of wrecks by adopting good dive practices and promoting them in their various clubs and dive groups. Membership fees and other details are given in our application form. For more information check out Preserve Our Wrecks website.
You can also join by using the Canada Helps website. Simply check our application form for the appropriate sum and donate it through this excellent resource. Credit cards are accepted.
